Introduction
A non-profit healthcare facility, The Aga Khan University Hospital provides comprehensive medical services to its patients under one roof. AKUH maintains a network of 4 secondary care hospitals, 30+ Medical Centers, over 290+ Clinical Labs, and 30+ Pharmacies in over 120+ locations throughout Pakistan in addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi. Additionally, it provides home healthcare services and drug deliveries. For patients who qualify, the hospital offers Zakat, and the healthcare system generously provides Patient Welfare to assist those in need of financial assistance. The AKUH is certified as an Academic Medical Center by the Joint Commission International (JCI), and its Clinical Labs are accredited by the College of American Pathologists in recognition of their high standards and commitment to patient safety.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

  • demonstrate safe handling and proper use of equipment/supplies
  • provide high quality personalized planned holistic nursing care to all assigned patients
  • administer medication safely, applying knowledge of drug and dosages, refers drug manual and/or pharmacy information as required, monitors patient responses to medication and communicate reportable findings promptly
  • counseling and educating patients on health behaviors
  • demonstrate efficiency in use of electronic monitoring equipment
  • demonstrate competence in patient assessment and care plan accordingly
  • perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

You should have:

  • a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school
  • at least one year of work experience
  • valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
  • certification in BLS, CPR, Safe Medication Administration, I/V Canulation, ECG Interpretation and Aseptic Techniques
  • excellent interpersonal skills, specificaly communication skills
  • willingness to perform shift duties.
